Butler Point is40 mins drive from our park. Butler house dates back to the 1840's it is the home of retired whaling captain William Butler & his family. The whaling museum displays a full range of authentic harpoons & fully equipped whale boat as used from whale ships. They have the largest pohutukawa tree in NZ it is 10.9m in circumference around the tree trunk.
