Facilities for Fishos
The waters surrounding Whatuwhiwhi Holiday Park are a fisherman's (or women's!) paradise, offering some of New Zealand's best game, deep sea and land-based fishing. Most of the world records for striped marlin of varying classes have been established off the tip of the Karikari Peninsula.
Whether you head out for a day on the boat or fish surfcast from the rocks right here at Perehipe Beach, you're bound to bring home some fresh fish for tea!
Guests and locals alike enjoy collecting Tuatua from right here at the beach - yum!
Lots and lots of big beautiful fish are caught here every day, so we have built specific areas for the sport.
There is a free water-blaster in the fishing area for you to wash down your boat and vehicle, and a separate fish filleting station where you can clean and fillet your fish. Please do not fillet fish in your accommodation or in the communal kitchen.
Also in this area you will find fridges and freezers specifically for keeping your bait.
We have an official Weighmaster on site so if you've caught a real big one get it put on record!

Diving Charters We are a registered dive tank filling facility. There is a licensed PADI Dive Instructor here in Whatuwhiwhi who can give you your open water certificate. Dive operators on the KariKari Peninsula can take you to some of the most breath taking dive spots in the world, such as Brodie's Pinnacle or the stunning wreck of the Rainbow Warrior. There are many reefs and rock formations close by to explore, such as Bed Rock, the Demoiselle Arch, Motoroa Island and The 3 Niners. Check out www.atozdiving.co.nz for more info.
